Airport Public Transportation Vehicles, or APTV as they are referred to within in the industry, are a special type of vehicle for hire in that they are dedicated to servicing the needs of passengers both going to and arriving at Lester B. Pearson International Airport. These vehicles differ from regular taxicabs due to the fact that they operate on a flat rate tariff system. These vehicles are not equipped with meters and charge a set fee within the Toronto and Mississauga area depending on which zone your destination lies within. For more information on zone rate you may contact the Greater Toronto Airports Authority which is responsible for setting the flat rate tariff for trips originating at the Airport.

The advantages of using an APTV for travel to and from the Airport are that these vehicles can be pre-booked and prices are fixed so unexpected delays or traffic congestion won't alter the price charged.
