1. Pre-Authorized Tax Payment
(PTP) Plan
We have made it easier for you to have your taxes automatically
withdrawn from your account, at no charge! You can choose to have your taxes withdrawn on a
monthly plan or due date plan.
By following the easy instructions below, payments can be
automatically deducted from your chequing account via a monthly plan (12 monthly withdrawals
with option of your withdrawal date being on the 1st, 8th, 15th, or 22nd of each month) or a
due date plan (6 monthly withdrawals corresponding with the regular tax instalment due
dates).
Eligibility:
You are eligible if your Tax account is current. All overdue
taxes must be paid prior to May 1st (if
enrolling for final billing) or November
1st (if enrolling for interim billing). For further information,
please see terms and conditions on the application.
Deadlines for Pre-Authorized Tax Payment (PTP) Plan
enrollment:
To enroll on the PTP Plan for withdrawals beginning July (final billing), your application must be
submitted to Mississauga Taxes by May
1st.
To enroll on the PTP Plan for withdrawals beginning January (interim billing), your application
must be submitted to Mississauga Taxes by November 1st.
How to Apply:
You can download a PDF version of the application at the related
link below. Alternatively, e-mail Mississauga Taxes to receive an application form in the
mail.
Attach a void cheque to the application (line of credit, credit
card and savings cheques cannot be used).
Upon entry into the program, a statement will be mailed advising
of instalment details for that billing period.
In December, you will receive a bill advising of the monthly
instalment amount of your interim billing for the next year. Your interim bill is calculated
using your previous year's current value assessment. The interim billing period is January to
June.
In the month of June, you will receive a bill advising of your
monthly instalment amount for the final billing. The final billing period is July to December.
The amount will be based on the current year's assessment of your property times the tax rate
minus the taxes billed in the interim billing period from January to June.
Note: If you are moving within Mississauga, your PTP is
NOT transferrable. You must complete a new application form. Please advise the Tax Office
as soon as possible of an impending change in property ownership.
