Looking for Public Input - Public Vehicle Licensing

Jun 02, 2014

The City of Mississauga is asking the public to give their comments on the licensing of the following services:

• medical transfer
• shuttle
• parcel delivery
• designated driver

These services are not currently licensed by the City. Comments can be made at the June 9, 2014 Public Vehicle Advisory Committee meeting.

The City is proposing to license these services to improve road safety and address concerns from the taxi cab industry. These services currently do not have safety requirements to operate.  Licensing requirements would include driver training, criminal record searches, vehicle inspections and accessibility requirements. Information collected from the public will be provided to Mississauga City Council for review.
