The City of Mississauga has selected Diana Rusnov as the new Director of Legislative Services and City Clerk effective September 1, 2017, following a national hiring competition. Rusnov has been the City’s Manager of Legislative Services and Deputy Clerk since 2012 and replaces Crystal Greer who is retiring in September.
“Diana has been an integral part of the Legislative Services team overseeing the management and operations of Council and the Committees of Council,” said Gary Kent, Commissioner of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer. “Diana also has experience managing the 2014 municipal election and the 2015 Ward 4 by-election. I am pleased to welcome Diana to the extended leadership team as our newest Director.”
Reporting to the Commissioner of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer, Rusnov will be responsible for managing all business functions of the Legislative Services Division. This includes supporting Council and Committees of Council, legislative compliance, administering municipal elections, courts administration, print shop, records management as well as acting as City Clerk.
Rusnov joined the City as a Planner in 1989 and progressed to the position of Manager, Central Area which included overseeing the development of the downtown core and also spent five years in Community Services as a Planner and Supervisor of Park Planning. In 2012, Rusnov became the Manager of Legislative Services and Deputy Clerk. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Toronto and a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation. Rusnov served as Director on the Ontario Provincial Planners Institute Council from 2010 to 2014 and continues to serve as a member of the Institute’s Governance and Nominating Committee.
