As part of the City of Mississauga's Earth
Days program, the City will once again join GTA municipalities to participate in the
20-Minute Makeover on Friday, April 24.
"On this day, schools, businesses, residents and City employees will pick-up litter for
20 minutes in an effort to help keep the city clean and green," said Ward 11 Councillor
George Carlson, Environmental Advisory Committee Chair. "Last year, an estimated
30,000 residents took part in the 20-Minute Mississauga Makeover. This year, to show our
appreciation to participants, a tree will be planted in Mississauga's Shelby Park for each
clean-up that is registered."

In an effort to promote recycling and minimize waste, participants are
encouraged to bring their own bags and gloves. After the clean-ups, participants are
asked to leave their bags of garbage for regular waste collection by the Region of Peel.
