New Mississauga Transit Route 102 – InterCity Express to Brampton

May 14, 2009

Starting next week, Mississauga Transit will provide a new limited-stop bus service between the City Centre Transit Terminal at Square One and the Shoppers World Terminal in Brampton.

“For passengers travelling between Mississauga and Brampton, the new Route 102 – InterCity Express, will shorten the time it takes to travel between cities since the buses will make fewer stops,” said Director of Mississauga Transit Geoff Marinoff.  “Developing a transit-oriented City is one of MississaugaÂ’s five strategic pillars for change. Mississauga Transit is launching this new route in combination with other key service improvements along Hurontario Street that, combined, will significantly benefit customers by improving their access to transit along Mississauga TransitÂ’s busiest corridor.”

The service begins on May 19, 2009, after the Victoria Day Holiday. It will be available from Monday to Friday during the morning and evening rush hours, at 18 minute frequencies during the morning rush hours (5:38 a.m. to 8:52 a.m.) and at 19 minute frequencies during the evening rush hours (3:17 p.m. to 6:42 p.m.).

Identifying decals have been placed at the bus stops to help travellers identify the service.

“By providing more bus service on Hurontario Street during the busiest travel times, customers will benefit from shorter wait times and convenient access to a safe and environmentally-responsible transportation option,” explained Marinoff.
