Starting next week, Mississauga Transit will
provide a new limited-stop bus service between the City Centre Transit Terminal at Square One
and the Shoppers World Terminal in Brampton.
Â“For passengers travelling between Mississauga and Brampton, the new Route 102 Â– InterCity
Express, will shorten the time it takes to travel between cities since the buses will make
fewer stops,Â” said Director of Mississauga Transit Geoff Marinoff. Â“Developing a
transit-oriented City is one of MississaugaÂ’s five strategic pillars for
change. Mississauga Transit is launching this new route in combination with other key
service improvements along Hurontario Street
that, combined, will significantly benefit customers by improving their access to transit along
Mississauga TransitÂ’s busiest corridor.Â”
The service begins on May 19, 2009, after the Victoria Day Holiday. It will be available
from Monday to Friday during the morning and evening rush hours, at 18 minute frequencies
during the morning rush hours (5:38 a.m. to 8:52 a.m.) and at 19 minute frequencies during the
evening rush hours (3:17 p.m. to 6:42 p.m.).
Identifying decals have been placed at the bus stops to help travellers identify the
Â“By providing more bus service on Hurontario Street during the busiest travel times,
customers will benefit from shorter wait times and convenient access to a safe and
environmentally-responsible transportation option,Â” explained Marinoff.
Travellers can find customized route and schedule information by:
- visiting www.mississaugatransit.com and using Click nÂ’ Ride, the online trip planner
- calling Citylink, the 24-hour automated information system, at 905-615-4BUS (4287) and
entering a four-digit bus stop number for the scheduled bus departure times at that stop for
any day of the week
- calling 905-615-INFO (4636) for customer information
