City of Mississauga's 2010 Business Plan and Budget Underway - Public Invited to Attend -

The City of Mississauga's Budget Committee will be meeting on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 to continue discussions regarding the 2010 Business Plan and Budget.

The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber and is part of a series of Budget Committee meetings that will be held throughout the year.

The meetings provide City Council with the opportunity to discuss and evaluate numerous budget options and are part of the City’s corporate-wide business planning process which links decisions on programs, service levels and budgets to Mississauga's strategic priorities.

"With Council's direction, the City's Business Plan and Budget process helps us look ahead, focus on our key activities, allocate resources, and prepare for opportunities and challenges as well as set priorities accordingly," said Gary Kent, acting director of Finance.

The Budget Committee held its first meeting to start the 2010 Business Plan and Budget process on March 10, 2009, when staff provided the committee with a summary of the 2009 process and a brief overview for 2010.

The Budget Committee is comprised of all City Council members. Meetings are held in the Council Chamber and are open to the public. The 2010 Budget Committee meeting schedule is as follows:
