The City of Mississauga is giving the Port Credit Lighthouse a facelift this summer.
"The Port Credit Lighthouse facility is one of the most recognizable landmarks in
Mississauga and a focal point for the Port Credit community," said Andrew Mills, project
co-ordinator. "The facelift is part of the building's natural life cycle maintenance and
will address current functional, safety and accessibility deficiencies to improve the longevity
of the building."
Mills highlighted that the architectural shape and colour scheme will be preserved.
The public washroom facilities, currently located at the base of the lighthouse, will be closed
during the facelift but on-site washroom facilities will be provided in the south parking
"The contractor doing the work is Everlast Group Ltd. and we are scheduled to be completed
in September of this year," said Mills.
