Today, Mississauga City Council recognized three recently completed projects for outstanding
achievements in design excellence at the 29th annual Mississauga Urban Design Awards
presentation.
Good urban design creates vibrant communities and unique neighbourhoods, said
Planning and Building Commissioner and jury member Ed Sajecki. The level of
innovation demonstrated by this years winners represents the Citys highest design
standards and helps define Mississauga as a place where people want to be.
Awards were presented in three categories during this mornings Council meeting.
The winners are:
Award of Excellence:

The Mississauga Urban Design Awards is in its 29th year and is the longest
running awards program of its kind in Ontario. The annual competition demonstrates the
Citys leadership in setting high standards for urban design and is open to architects,
designers, planners, landscape architects, engineers, developers, owners, contractors,
consultants and the general public. A wide variety of project types are eligible,
including residential, commercial, industrial, recreational, mixed-use, streetscapes, public
utilities and projects which adapt or preserve existing structures. Eligible projects
must have been completed prior to September 10, 2010.
