The City of Mississauga completed a recount for Ward 1 confirming the results of the October
25, 2010 Municipal Election.
The recount was undertaken as voted upon by Council and in accordance with the Municipal
Elections Act, 1996. In total, 17 tabulators were used in the recount representing the 11 Ward
1 voting locations and 6 advance polls. The results are to be certified by the City Clerk on
December 23, 2010.
"The recount results confirm the validity of our process," said City Clerk Crystal
Greer. "We followed the procedures required by the Municipal Elections Act and stand
behind our electoral process."
