Culture Division, Recreation and Parks and Carassauga feature Dumpling Festival

The City of Mississauga and Carassauga are partnering to feature Carassauga's Dumpling Festival at the International Home & Garden Show from March 31 to April 3. This new festive cultural event also showcases a sneak preview of Carassauga, Mississauga’s Festival of Cultures taking place June 3 to 5.

"Cultural events enhance the quality of life in our city and showcase the diversity we have to offer," said Stephanie Myhal, City of Mississauga supervisor, Arts and Culture Programs. "The Dumpling Festival and Carassauga have something for every taste and we hope everyone is able to join us at the show and try something new."

"Mississauga residents have shown us how important our cultural roots are to them," said Linda Siutra, executive director, Carassauga Festival Inc. "Participating in Carassauga’s Dumpling Festival allows residents to experience new cultures through the best possible way – the enjoyment of food."

International Home & Garden Show featuring Carassauga’s Dumpling Festival

The countries featured during the festival will change daily allowing for representation from the largest number of cultural expressions possible. A plate of dumplings will cost four dollars with all proceeds supporting Carassauga pavilions. Cultural entertainment will also be staged at the following times: Thursday and Friday evenings at 7 p.m., Saturday (12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.) and Sunday (1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.)

Thursday, March 31, 2011 – 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday, April 1, 2011 – Saturday, April 2, 2011 – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sunday, April 3, 2011 – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Please note that Carassauga Dumplings can be purchased all weekend at the International Home and Garden Show from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
