Older And Soon To Be Retired Adults Are Invited To Spring Into Health At Retirement Fair April 11

The City of Mississauga invites older adults and people soon to be retired to attend the Health and Wellness Retirement Fair where they will meet exhibitors that have great information about getting fit and active in all aspects of life.  Admission is free.



Monday, April 11, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thirty businesses and agencies will provide information about their services which benefit older adults and promote health and wellness in the community.  Exhibitors include:

  • Meadowvale Fitness- blood pressure, body fat, BMI, and grip strength testing
  • Meadowvale Social Senior Club
  • River Grove Senior Friendship Club
  • Arthritis Society
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Free Massages
  • City Services
  • Social and Mental Health Services



In less than 20 years, 38 per cent of Mississauga¬ís population will be 55 years or older.  Through its Older Adult Plan, the City of Mississauga is committed to increasing awareness about the services, facilities and programs available to older adults so that they may remain healthy, active and engaged in their community.
