Second Units Public Meeting February 25

Feb 21, 2013

The City is holding a Second Units Public Meeting at the Planning & Development Committee meeting on February 25, 2013.  Ontario laws now require municipalities to allow second units in homes.  Second units are also known as basement apartments or in-law suites.

What:            Second Units Public Meeting

Where:         Civic Centre Council Chamber, 300 City Centre Drive
(Burnhamthorpe Road and Duke of York Boulevard)

When:            7 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2013

Those interested are invited to review, ask questions and comment on the City's proposed Official Plan amendment and Zoning By-law for legalizing second units. This strategy was developed after the City held public consultations in February and March 2012.  The City's proposed Second Units Implementation Strategy is a part of Housing Choices: Mississauga's Affordable Housing Strategy.
