Mississauga Takes 20 to Tackle Trash

Apr 06, 2011

As part of the City of Mississauga’s annual Earth Days campaign, Mississauga is once again joining municipalities in the Greater Toronto Area to participate in the 20-Minute Makeover on Friday, April 15 at 2 p.m.

“As a city, we value our shared responsibility to keep our communities clean and litter-free,” said Mayor Hazel McCallion.  “By promoting a green culture, we can contribute to a legacy of a sustainable and beautiful environment.”

“In 2010, over 8,000 residents, schools and employees from local businesses came together to participate in the event to help keep our City clean and green,” said Ward 11 Councillor and Environmental Advisory Committee Chair, George Carlson.  “If everyone takes just 20 minutes out of their day this Friday, we can make a huge difference in cleaning up our city.”
