The City of Mississauga continues to celebrate Earth Day with a Litter Awareness Blitz on
April 29 and a Tree Planting Event at Rathwood Park on April 30.
After the success of the 20-Minute Mississauga Makeover, the City wants to continue
working with the community to help keep our neighbourhoods clean and green, said Ward 11
Councillor George Carlson, Environmental Advisory Committee Chair. With the development
of the Citys Living
Green Master Plan and programs like Dont be a LitterBug, there are a few ways that residents can get involved in
helping to protect our environment throughout the year. Remember Earth Day is every

Friday, April 29
Transit Security Officers will be conducting a litter awareness blitz at the following transit
terminals: City Centre, South Common Centre, Meadowvale Town Centre and Westwood Mall.
Earth Day Tree Planting Event at Rathwood Park
Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m. to 12 noon

Celebrate Earth Days with the City of Mississauga, Evergreen, Ontario Nature and EcoSource. We
will plant native trees and shrubs, make seed balls and learn about growing vegetables.
