City of Mississauga Recreation staff will be available to answer questions.
Local students have joined with City staff to find a creative way to turn the fencing around
the Don McLean Westacres Outdoor Pool construction site into a fun collage of fish.
Don McLean Westacres Outdoor Pool will be closed for the 2013 season and will reopen for the
2014 outdoor pool season. The pool is 47 years old and serves approximately 85,000 residents.
Construction will update the pools systems to make more efficient use of energy and water
and improve accessibility for residents of all ages.
Among other improvements, redevelopment will significantly expand the outdoor pools
lifespan and will include updating facility change rooms and washrooms, replacing the pool tank
and pool deck and bringing the facility to Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities
Act (AODA) standards with the addition of two barrier-free parking spaces.
Project costs will be funded through the City of Mississaugas Capital Budget program with
support from the Government of Canadas Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund
Residents are invited to visit the Citys many indoor and outdoor pools during the Don
McLean Westacres Outdoor Pool closure. For more information about pool openings and program
schedules, go to www.mississauga.ca/aquatics.
