City of Mississauga City Manager Janice Baker Elected to CAMA Board of Directors

City of Mississauga city manager and CAO, Janice Baker was elected to the board of directors for the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) at its annual general meeting on May 28.

"Janice Baker’s leadership and dedication to best practices as city manager and CAO are a great benefit to the City of Mississauga," said Mayor Hazel McCallion. "Her election to the board of directors for the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators reflects her experience and commitment to administrative excellence in municipal government."

Biography
Baker became city manager and CAO of the City of Mississauga in January 2005 after serving as the acting city manager since February, 2004. As city manager, Janice works with a Leadership Team of four commissioners. She joined the City of Mississauga in May 1999, as commissioner of Corporate Services and treasurer.  

Baker has municipal government and fiscal administration experience, serving as director of Finance and City treasurer for the City of St. John's, Newfoundland and commissioner of Corporate Services and then commissioner of Public Works for the City of Oshawa, Ontario. Baker also holds the FCA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO).
