Cyclists will have a safer ride on Tenth Line with the completion of seven
kilometres of new bike lanes from Erin Centre Boulevard to Argentia Road. The new bike lanes
will be showcased on Saturday, June 8 during the Ward 10 Ride with Councillor Sue
What: Media are invited to capture photos of the newly completed bike lanes and cyclists
on Tenth Line. Tenth Line was identified in the Citys Cycling Master Plan as a primary
on-road cycling route. In 2003, bike lanes were added on Tenth Line north of Derry Road and
south of Britannia Road. With this latest construction in 2011/2012, 7 km of continuous bike
lanes connect the original two sections.
Who: Ward 10 Councillor, Sue McFadden will greet members of the Mississauga Cycling
Advisory Committee and area residents midway through their Ward Ride to celebrate the newly
completed bicycle lanes.
When: Saturday, June 8, 2013, at approximately 10:30 a.m. - Photo opportunity to
celebrate the new bike lanes will occur midway on the Ward Ride. The Ward 10 Ride departs at 10
a.m. on a 13.9 km community ride. It will depart from Tim Hortons, 3285 Derry Road West
(located at the northwest corner of Derry Road and Tenth Line West).
