Calling All Local Artists! Mississauga Celebrates Culture Days

The City of Mississauga invites members of the arts and culture community to celebrate Culture Days 2011, a weekend showcase for local artists taking place this fall.

“Culture Days is a fantastic opportunity for Mississauga to showcase our local artistic talent and cultural vitality while taking part in a national celebration,” said Susan Burt, Director, Culture Division.  “Best of all, it gives our citizens a chance to explore their own creativity.”

Local artists, art groups and art organizations are encouraged to participate by registering online at www.culturedays.ca for Culture Days; an event celebrated across Canada from September 30 - October 2, 2011. 

Artists interested in registering for Culture Days are invited to an information session, hosted by the City of Mississauga:

About Culture Days

Last September, Ontarians participated in 930 free Culture Days activities that took place in more than 160 towns and cities across the province including 17 activities that happened in Mississauga.

Plans are underway for 2011 Culture Days in Mississauga including poetry events, art exhibitions, heritage tours and more.  This year, Culture Days will also feature the popular Doors Open Mississauga event, which invites residents to tour historic and public buildings throughout the city.
