"The Clarkson and Malton community centres were well-equipped but lacked their own
swimming pool," said Paul Mitcham, Commissioner of Community Services. "I know local
residents have been looking forward to having a bright, modern pool for one-stop recreational
enjoyment at their community centres."
Each pool features a fully accessible 25-metre lap pool, warm-water leisure/therapy pool
with spray features and a relaxing hydrotherapy bench. The facilities include an on-deck
viewing gallery; viewing areas from the lobby; and family, male and female barrier-free change
facilities. Additionally, a relocated Customer Service Desk and new main lobby concession area
were constructed at Clarkson Community Centre. At Malton Community Centre, the fitness area was
expanded and a new aerobics studio added.
