City Invites Nominations for 30th Annual Urban Design Awards

The City of Mississauga is calling for nominations for its annual urban design awards competition, a city program celebrating its 30th year in 2011.  The awards program is the longest running municipal urban design competition in Ontario.

“The Mississauga Urban Design Awards honour projects that best exemplify the City’s design principles and ongoing work to promote excellence in urban design,” said Ed Sajecki, Mississauga’s Commissioner of Planning & Building.  “It also recognizes the critical role and contribution of design professionals who are helping to make Mississauga a more vibrant, liveable community.”

The ceremony will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011.  Nomination forms are available from the Urban Design Awards website at  The deadline for submissions is Friday, September 16, 2011 at 1 p.m.
