Canadian Forces Veterans Ride Free on MiWay on Warriors' Day Parade Day

Aug 16, 2011

Canadian Forces Veterans may ride with a companion for free on MiWay on the day of the Warriors' Day Parade – Saturday, August 20, 2011.

"Veterans must wear their uniforms, medals or another item that clearly identifies them as a veteran to a Transit Operator so they don't have to pay a fare like other passengers that day," said Geoff Marinoff, director of Transit. "Veterans are respectfully asked to identify their companion to the Transit Operator so that he or she may also ride for free."

The Warriors' Day Parade held at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto is an annual event to recognize veterans and their service.
