The Municipal Finance Officers Association of Canada (MFOA) presented Mississauga City
Manager and CAO, Janice Baker with the MFOA Excellence in Municipal Finance Award at the Annual
Conference last week.
The award recognizes Baker for her leadership in the field of municipal finance,
according to MFOA.
With over 20 years of municipal government and fiscal administrative experience Janice
has demonstrated excellent financial leadership in the communities in which she has worked and
through her involvement in professional and community boards, said Dan Cowin, Executive
This award is especially meaningful as it confirms Mississaugas reputation for
excellence in financial planning and fiscal prudence, said Baker.
Baker became City Manager and CAO of the City of Mississauga in 2005. She joined the City in
1999 as Commissioner of Corporate Services and Treasurer.
