Celebrate Culture Days in Mississauga this Saturday with Take 2 and Doors Open

On October 1, the City will be infused with culture as the new Mississauga Celebration Square comes alive with Take 2, a grand showcase featuring 26 musical groups and artists. Also, 37 sites around the city will open their doors for free tours and family activities during Doors Open Mississauga.

"Strengthening arts, culture and heritage ensures a broadly distributed range of opportunities for citizens of all ages and backgrounds to participate in a wide variety of cultural activities," said Susan Burt, director, Culture Division, City of Mississauga. "Activities such as Take 2 and Doors Open epitomize this direction and make culture, in many different forms, available and accessible to all."

According to Burt, with both festivities taking place in the city, there will be more than 70 free things to see and do this weekend.

2. Elizabeth Gosse, Interactive Painter: It's Your City, Mississauga
3. Group of Three: Live Painting
4. Mississauga Chinese Arts Organization: Rhythm of Red October
5. Youth Troopers for Global Awareness Theatre: Pieces

2. Timothy Street House
3. Kariya Park
4. Islamic Centre of Canada (ISNA)
5. Ontario Khalsa Darbar – Multimedia Sikh Museum

From April to October each year, communities across Ontario open the doors to some of our most intriguing and charming sites. Admission is free. About Culture Days
From September 30 to October 2, 2011, Mississauga will participate in the national celebration for Culture Days Culture Days with free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators and designers at work in our city. There are more than 70 free things to see and do in the city during Culture Days Mississauga 2011.
