Are you connected to the City of Mississauga? If so, how? That's what City staff needs to
find out as they develop a Communications Master Plan - a ten year plan that will provide
recommendations to Council on how best to support communications between the City and its
As part of this process, the City is encouraging the public to complete a quick survey on
the City web site: www.mississauga.ca
The survey will be online until October 27; it will provide insight into current City
communication channels and gives the opportunity for citizens to provide anonymous feedback.
Hard copies of the survey are available upon request.
"There is no question the world of communications is rapidly changing with web-based
and social media channels," said Director of Communications Ivana Di Millo. "At the
same time, the face of Mississauga is also changing and growing; there is an increased demand
from our community to receive information in various formats that are most convenient to

citizens across many channels (print, web, digital, social and face-to-face) to ensure
communications are timely and relevant. "The question is: which channels are the
most effective ones and for who? We need to address the technology challenges and
increased citizen demand for new communication channels with the current resources we
have," she said.
"The changing demographic landscape of our community combined with unprecedented
changes in the field of communications has made the need for a Communications Master Plan
imperative," said Di Millo.
