Mayor Hazel McCallion invites Mississauga taxpayers to a Town Hall style meeting on
Wednesday, November 2 to understand how the funds generated through property taxes are being
used to fund Regional services such as paramedics, public health, long term care as well as the
City's economci development initiatives.
What: Mayors Budget Town Hall Meeting on Health Services and Economic Development
- Mayor McCallion will be joined by City Manager and CAO, Janice Baker, to explain the services
that are supported by property taxes. Region of Peel staff will present an overview on the
business of operating and maintaining the Regions Health Services. City of Mississauga
staff will discuss the funding of the Economic Development Office. Topics include
resource allocation, the cost of program delivery and funding challenges.
