Mississauga's Christmas Marketplace Offers Unique Art and Gifts

Nov 08, 2011

Beat the holiday shopping rush and start your gift buying early at the 14th annual Christmas Marketplace Art & Fine Craft Show at the Mississauga Civic Centre on November 17.

"We are thrilled to have partnered with several arts groups around the City to make the marketplace a successful event again this year," said Susan Burt, City of Mississauga director, Culture Division. "We have a number of new artists and artisans participating this year so we encourage residents to come out, see some very unique gift ideas and meet a group of talented, local artists."

According to Burt, the City is working with Visual Arts Mississauga, Living Arts Centre, Mississauga Potters Guild and Artisan Studio Tour on this year's marketplace. This event focuses on offering high quality, unique gift ideas to event attendees.

The Art & Fine Craft Show features something for everyone on your holiday wish list including: functional and decorative pottery; jewellery; paintings; hand-blown glass; knit wear; stained glass; wood carvings; tasty treats; and much more. More than 50 local artists and artisans will be on hand to display their unique wares.

Live entertainment will set the holiday mood throughout the event. Piano music is provided by teachers and students of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association.
