The City of Mississauga recently took a big step forward with its 'Greening Our Fleet'
program through the addition of its first all electric vehicle.
"It's about green technology. It's about clean technology and it's about thinking about
the future," said Brenda Osborne, Manager of Environment. "The addition of our first
zero emission vehicle is an example of the Citys effort to adopt solutions to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions and to fight climate change. This is also a priority of both the
Living Green Master Plan and the Strategic Plan."
"The City is showcasing the arrival of the vehicle just days before the public preview of
the Living Green Master Plan (LGMP) on Wednesday, November 23," added Osborne. The LGMP is
the City's first environmental master plan and the conversation will be about priority
environmental actions and the ideas gathered from months of public consultations and
Media are invited to see the City of Mississauga's first all electric vehicle. The vehicle was
acquired for daily use by staff in the Transportation & Works Department.
