Countdown to 2012: Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Mississauga Celebration Square!

Mississauga Celebration Square is hosting its first New Year’s Eve Celebration on Saturday, December 31.  The party kicks off at 8 p.m. with a free DJ skate party, kids’ activities, local arts performances, live concerts, fireworks and more.

“Mississauga Celebration Square had an impressive first season and has become the city’s premier event destination,” said Paul Mitcham, commissioner, Community Services.  “Now, with our first New Year’s Eve Celebration, residents can enjoy a new way to ring in the new year with a mix of outdoor activities, great food and stellar entertainment.”

8 p.m. DJ Skate Video Dance Party, Ice Rink

8:30 p.m. Limelight Block Party, featuring performances by Mississauga’s up-and-coming young artists, Amphitheatre

10:00 p.m. The New Cities, Main Stage

11:05 p.m. Stereos, Main Stage

Midnight Fireworks, Main Stage

 Event activities are weather permitting.  Please be advised that road closures will be in effect in the City Centre between December 31 and January 1 to ensure resident safety during the event and fireworks display.  For a map of the closures, visit
