A new dome constructed over one of the outdoor artificial turf fields at the City of
Mississauga's Hershey Centre doubles the facility's indoor sports fields for the winter
"Our new indoor training facility is a welcome addition and centre for athlete training in
the off season and complements the successful programs already offered at the Sports
Complex," said John Rydzewski, director, Hershey SportZone. "The addition of the dome
has doubled the indoor field turf capacity at the Hershey SportZone allowing for more youth and
adult programming as well as training time for our local community-based sports organizations
giving athletes of all ages every opportunity to develop to their full potential."
For 2012, the dome will be open March 3 to the end of April when it will be removed to allow
for regular outdoor play. Starting in 2013, the operating season for the dome will be mid
November to mid April, weather permitting.
