Earth Days Alert! Litter Blitz, Cleanups and Tree Plantings Coming Soon

The City of Mississauga kicks off its Earth Days campaign with Transit Security Officers conducting a litter awareness blitz at the following transit terminals: City Centre, South Common Centre, Meadowvale Town Centre and Westwood Mall on Friday, April 13.  In addition, a street team will be onsite at the City Centre Transit Terminal from 7 to 10 a.m.

“Earth Days is every day!” said Ward 11 Councillor George Carlson, Environmental Advisory Committee Chair.  “Grab your friends, family and co-workers and lets keep our city clean and green together.”

Join the thousands across Ontario who will volunteer for 20 minutes to pick up litter around their workplace, school or community.

TD Green Streets Celebration and Earth Day Tree Plantings
Saturday, April 21 at 9 a.m.
Erindale Park (Mississauga Road and Dundas Street West)
King's Park (Dixie Road and Drew Road)

Come out and celebrate Earth Day and help green your community!
The day will begin with a free yoga class, followed by planting native trees and shrubs.
The Erindale Park event will also celebrate the launch of Mississauga’s new TD Green Streets project. Event partners include the City of Mississauga, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and Tree Canada, Evergreen, EcoSource, and Credit Valley Conservation,. Refreshments will be served.
