The City of Mississauga encourages residents to plan ahead and be prepared in
the event of an emergency. Learn how you can prepare your family by attending the many
events occurring across the city from May 6 to 12 during Emergency Preparedness Week
Emergencies can happen anywhere at any time, said Catherine Blair, the City of
Mississaugas Emergency Management Coordinator. A home preparedness kit,
containing necessary supplies, and a family emergency plan can make the difference in a
critical situation and help keep families safe if the need arises.
Emergency Preparedness Week:
The City of Mississaugas Emergency Management Office will host a community event
featuring interactive displays, demonstrations, childrens activities including an
appearance from Buzz the Preparedness Bee at Erin Mills Town Centre. Residents can enter
a draw for a chance to win a Canadian Red Cross home emergency preparedness kit.
