May 02, 2012
On May 1, the City of Mississauga's Culture Division hosted the launch of a cultural
resource for the city - Mississauga Culture on the Map. The launch took place at Noel Ryan
Auditorium, Mississauga Central Library.
"Mississauga Culture on the Map is a one-stop online resource tool for arts and culture in
Mississauga," said Susan Burt, director Culture Division. "You can easily view,
search and display Mississauga cultural resources, activities and other related topics. I want
to thank all of the team members and internal and external culture stakeholders for all of
their hard work and dedication to making this initiative a success."
The cultural map contains information such as arts and culture businesses, community cultural
organizations, cultural spaces and facilities, public art, heritage properties, festivals and
events, local artists and other related cultural resources.
Mississauga Culture on the Map is one of the key recommendations from the five year Culture
Master Plan approved by Council in June 2009. For more information visit www.mississauga.ca/portal/discover/artsmasterplan.
