The City of Mississauga, Smart Commute Mississauga and the Mississauga Cycling Advisory
Committee invite residents to pump up their tires and pedal their way to work for the 6th
Annual Bike to Work Day on Monday, May 28, 2012. The group rides will be followed by a free
breakfast with dignitaries.
With our newly approved Living Green Master Plan, an event such as Bike to Work Day
reminds us that cycling is one action we can take to show that we care about our health and the
health of our natural environment, said Ward 3 Councillor Chris Fonseca. In the
spirit of living green, I encourage everyone to register for a Bike to Work Day ride and give
cycling a try.
Our goal is to integrate cycling into our citys way of life, where people choose
to cycle for their daily transportation needs, said Jacquelyn Hayward Gulati, manager of
the Cycling Office. May 28 is a great opportunity for people to get on their bikes and
see for themselves that cycling is fun, affordable and environmentally-friendly. Together,
lets live green, one bike ride at a time.
