The City of Mississauga's Lakeside Park official reopening ceremony is taking place on June
12, 2012 to feature the park's new and innovative green features.
The added features include a bioretention swale which allows storm water to percolate into the
ground; natural and meadow areas; re-purposed water from the spray pad for irrigation; and many

Program: Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. with Mayor Hazel McCallion, Ward 2 Councillor Pat
Mullin, Commissioner of Community Services Paul Mitcham and representatives from Holcim
Park tours will take place following the ceremony highlighting the exciting features of the
Lakeside Park is one of five priority parks that were identified for development and
redevelopment through the City of Mississauga's 2008 Waterfront Parks Strategy. The 25-acre
park is a waterfront destination providing multi-seasonal opportunities to enjoy outdoor public
space and public access to Lake Ontario.
