Celebrate Canada Day with Carly Rae Jepsen and Dragonette at Mississauga Celebration Square!

Celebrate Canada’s 145th birthday at Mississauga Celebration Square with a dynamic lineup of free live performances including family friendly Puss in Boots Live, pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen, and Juno Award winning electro-pop band Dragonette.

“This will be another exciting Canada Day for the City of Mississauga,” said Mayor Hazel McCallion. “We are proud to host such a wonderful event at Mississauga Celebration Square. I look forward to celebrating both Mississauga’s community and our nation’s birthday. Let the festivities begin!”

Schedule of Events

1 p.m. Official Ceremony

Festivities get underway with Mayor Hazel McCallion, Members of Council and special guests at the official ceremony, hosted by Global Toronto’s Antony Robart.

1 – 10:30 p.m. Live Entertainment and Family Activities

Free family-friendly afternoon activities and performances include:

1:40 p.m.               Puss in Boots Live

1:30 – 4:30 p.m.     Extreme Soccer Shows

1:30 – 3:30 p.m.     Living Green Breakdancing Shows

4:30 – 7:30 p.m.     Global Dance Bout

8:50 p.m.               Skyscraping Cirque Show towering over City Centre

Main stage evening entertainment hosted by Global Toronto’s Jaclyn Whittal features:

8 p.m.                   Chart topping singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen

9:20 p.m.             Electronic pop band Dragonette

10:15 p.m.           Fireworks extravaganza featuring DJ Audiowise and DJ Zedvantz

Road Closures, MiWay Special Offer and Events Across the City

Road closures will be in effect in and around the City Centre from June 30 – July 1.  Refer to the Canada Day website for full details.  Public parking in the area will be limited and residents are encouraged to take public transit.

MiWay is your way to Canada Day celebrations.  On July 1, MiWay has a special offer: pass holders (weekly, monthly annual, U-Pass) can bring a friend for free all day. Children (Grades 1-8) also ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying passenger. Extended service is also available on some routes. For details, visit www.miway.ca/canadaday

Port Credit and Streetsville are also hosting Canada Day celebrations on July 1.  For more information on these events, visit the event websites.

Residents are encouraged to come to one of the City’s Canada Day celebrations for the safest way to enjoy fireworks.
