At today's Council meeting, the City of Mississaugas Finance
Division was presented with two awards from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA)
recognizing excellence in financial reporting and budget presentations.
For the 14th consecutive year, the City was awarded the Canadian Award for Financial
Reporting for the 2010 Financial Report. The award is presented to "municipalities
that prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency
and full disclosure."
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award was presented for the 23rd year in a row and
acknowledges the City's Business Plan and Budget document as a "document of the very
highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council
on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA's best practices on budgeting."

planning and reporting for the City of Mississauga," said Brenda Breault, commissioner of
