The City of Mississauga announced a new online service today making it possible to locate
and receive reliable contact information for over 10,000 companies located in Mississauga.
"The business directory is a popular service provided by our office and is used by both
small and medium-sized businesses in Mississauga to generate lists, leads and connections
within our community," said Susan Amring, director, Economic Development. "By moving
the directory online for the first time this year, we are maintaining the same services people
rely on and adding several new features to make it even more convenient and widely
The business directory now features:
- The ability to share listings by email;
- Facebook, Twitter and Google+ integration;
- Directions to listed company locations via Google Maps; and
- Mobile browser optimization.
It is accessible through the City's website by visiting: http://mississauga.ca/business.
In addition to free online access to listings, a one-year subscription is available for
purchase. The one-year subscription is being marketed to businesses that have purchased a
directory in the past or businesses that require full-access to company listings.
"For $60, a one-year subscription is good value to companies in our community that need to
create customized lists or import data to contact management software," added Amring. With
a subscription, an updated data file will be available for download each month. Companies
listed in the business directory are invited to update their information online at any
The Mississauga business directory is one of two new interactive tools that the City of
Mississauga has recently added to the Economic Development Office website. Visitors can
now create customized brochures online. This feature is expected to appeal to commercial real
estate and other professionals responsible for making location decisions. The brochures enable
business decision makers to create personalized business cases featuring key information
including location attributes, market conditions, local information on population demographics,
housing statistics and more.
