The Citys plan for second units will be discussed at the Planning & Development
Committee meeting on Monday, June 24. An Official Plan amendment, zoning bylaw changes,
and a licensing program are part of the proposed plan to allow second units in Mississauga.
Ontario laws now require municipalities to allow second units in homes. These units
are also known as basement apartments, in-law suites and secondary units.
