Mississauga Tourism Launches New Corporate Meetings Service

May 07, 2004

Corporations in Mississauga who plan and organize meetings can now do so right in their own backyard with one simple telephone call.

On May 1, 2004, Mississauga Tourism launched Meet in Mississauga!, a meeting planning resource that has been designed with the busy professional in mind.  Recognizing that the task of selecting conference venues and planning meetings can be both a time consuming, inefficient and frustrating experience, the Meet in Mississauga! program initiative seeks to reduce all the hassle and work to just one simple phone call.

Once clients complete a 'Meeting Profile,' a meeting specialist at Mississauga Tourism will communicate those requirements and needs to the appropriate Mississauga-based hotels, meeting venues and other hospitality industry partners.  These partners will submit a detailed and custom made meeting proposal for the client's consideration.  With the Meet in Mississauga! program, clients now have proposals in hand after one simple step.

"This initiative is just the first phase of a larger effort to establish Mississauga Tourism as a full-service destination marketing organization," said Suzan Trabert McKay, manager of Mississauga Tourism.  "We have identified some key market segments where Mississauga is uniquely positioned to deliver an exceptional product and the corporate meetings market is just one of them. The Meet in Mississauga! program has only just begun and is already showing fantastic potential. The clients love the simplicity and flexibility we can deliver and our members are seeing considerable long-term potential with the program."

Get Added Value by Including Retail, Dining and Attractions

As an added benefit for clients who arrange a meeting through Meet in Mississauga!, our entertainment, retail, dining, attraction and cultural partners have agreed to deliver unprecedented value for pre and post meeting times. Whether it be a free evening, team building or social component of the meeting, the meeting specialist will help determine the client's needs and then prepare a unique and attractive value added proposal for consideration. Great entertainment options with added values will only serve to supplement the Mississauga meeting experience.
