Canadian Forces veterans and a companion may ride free with MiWay on Saturday, August 17, 2013 in celebration of the Warriors' Day Parade.
"Canadian Forces veterans made personal sacrifices in their service to Canada and MiWay wants to recognize their dedication by offering veterans a free ride on August 17," said Geoff Marinoff, director, Transit. MiWay joins Canada in recognizing 2013 The Year of the Korean War Veteran marking the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Armistice.
To ride free, veterans must identify themselves to a transit operator by wearing their uniform, medals or another item that distinguishes them as a veteran.
The Warriors' Day Parade, held at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, is an annual event to recognize veterans and their service.
