Holcim Waterfront Estate: Mississauga Names Newest Event Venue, Opens Doors to the Public

Sep 16, 2013

On July 3, City Council approved the official naming of Mississauga’s newest heritage site and event venue, Holcim Waterfront Estate. The estate will be open to the public as part of Doors Open Mississauga 2013.

“I am happy to announce the official naming of the newest addition to the City’s banquet and event facilities,” said Ward 2 Councillor Pat Mullin.  “Holcim Waterfront Estate is one of the City’s heritage properties and has now been adapted to a place where residents can celebrate their special moments.”

Bordered by Lake Ontario and overlooking Joshua’s Creek, Holcim Waterfront Estate, developed in the 1930s, has been renovated into a premier banquet and event facility.  Holcim (Canada) Inc., one of the country's largest vertically integrated building materials and construction companies, contributed to the renovation and added site features.

“Holcim Canada has been a proud member of the Mississauga business community for close to 60 years, and is committed to not only contributing to the local economy, but also to protecting the city’s historical legacy and heritage,” says Nick Caccavella, Senior Vice President, Holcim Canada.

The estate is located at 2700 Lakeshore Rd. W., on the Mississauga-Oakville border.  The property is rich with history and character, providing a rare glimpse of early 20th century country estate living. It consists of the enchanting Harding House, a Coach House and an outdoor tented area.
