Come Make A Splash At Reopening of South Common Leisure Pool

Sep 27, 2013

Residents are invited to a “Welcome Back SPLASH Event” featuring free swims, activities, displays and a charity BBQ to celebrate the reopening of the indoor leisure pool at South Common Community Centre and Library.

Saturday, October 5, 2013  11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

South Common Community Centre & Library, 2233 South Millway, Mississauga, Ontario

City of Mississauga’s Recreation staff welcome the community back to the community centre’s indoor pool following a five month closure for lifecycle replacements and upgrades to serve the facility’s customers better.  Repairs and benefits include:

•        The installation of a new pool dehumidification unit to make on-deck and in-water experience more comfortable. This unit will help better manage the high humidity and temperatures that often occur in a pool environment and improve long term costs with energy efficiencies.

•         Improvements to the hot tub including installation of stronger water jets for a true therapeutic experience. The installation of a high efficiency boiler will heat the water consistently to a comfortable temperature.

•         Upgrades to the pool, change room and shower areas, new change room floor and wall tiles, improved lighting, fresh acoustic panels for better on-deck sound quality and a new water feature adding a modern touch.
