Civic Centre with Snow Covered Trees
Mayor's Statement - Ice Storm - December 23 - 12:30 p.m.

Dec 23, 2013

The City of Mississauga is continuing with our storm clean-up. Our top priority remains public safety. Our crews are working as quickly as possible to remove fallen trees and debris first from our roadways. Next they will be clearing the sidewalks.

The City of Mississauga and the Region of Peel are working to develop a plan for yard waste. Until we have one in place, I am asking all residents to please keep debris from privately owned trees on your property. Please do not bring debris from private trees to the curb.  For larger trees and debris please use caution and we recommend you call a professional private tree contractor for clean-up.

The clean-up is going to take time.  I am asking that everyone please be patient.  If you have storm related inquiries call 311. This is the best way to deal with your questions.

For ongoing updates, please check our website at www.mississauga.ca or follow us on Twitter.
