The City of Mississauga has appointed Derek Boyce as Director, Corporate Performance and Innovation joining the City Manager's Office effective February 3rd.
"Derek will be leading the City’s drive towards business improvement and advancing key corporate initiatives," said City Manager and Chief Administrative Officer Janice Baker. "He brings a depth of experience in business planning and in managing community-wide projects. We are pleased to have him join our office in this leadership role."
Working closely with the City Manager, Boyce will support innovation and continuous business improvement across all business service areas and drive performance excellence and measurement capabilities by delivering effective programs, support and tools.
Boyce first joined the City in 2004 as a Business Advisor and since that time, has held positions of progressively higher levels of responsibility in Business Consulting within the City Manager and Community Services Departments. He holds a M.A. in Public Policy and Public Administration and a B.A. (Honours) in Political Science and International Trade from the University of Waterloo. In addition to his many professional and academic accomplishments, he is an NCCP Certified Basketball Coach and co-founder of CIA Bounce Basketball, an organization through which he has developed a strong commitment to community leadership and development.
Boyce is replacing Gary Kent who is now the Commissioner of Corporate Services.
