From Beginner to Experienced Cyclists - Tour de Mississauga has a Ride for You

What better way to explore Mississauga than on a bicycle with close to 3,000 riders for the 7th annual Tour de Mississauga on Sunday, September 21. The Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee’s (MCAC) cycling event offers rides for every level from a 15 km family ride to a new 120 km timed route.

As one of the province’s largest free cycling events, the Tour de Mississauga begins and ends at Mississauga Celebration Square. The tour is an opportunity to explore our city by bike and is open to all cyclists on any bike including electric assist bikes. 

All children 17 years and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.  Registration is free and is now available online at mississaugacycling.ca/tour

Sunday, September 21, 2014 
7 a.m. – New 120 km City Classic Ride
8 a.m. – 100 km Challenge Road Ride
8:30 a.m. – 60 km Signature Ride 
9:30 a.m. – 30 km Leisure Ride
10:30 a.m. – 15 km Family Ride
   
Where:   

Mississauga Celebration Square – Pedalinx start/finish line
300 City Centre Drive (Burnhamthorpe Road West & Hurontario Street)

Routes: 

Genius Tools Family Ride – This 15 km (9.3 miles) paved downtown route is designed for families. Child trailers and bike seats welcome. Children must be seven-years-old to ride on their own.
Grant Thornton Leisure Ride – This 30 km (18 miles) ride features many paved off-road trails and is suitable for adults and families who enjoy cycling regularly.
ACG Signature Ride - This 60 km (37 miles) route covers a variety of on and off-road paved trails throughout the city.
The Symons Group Challenge Road Ride – This 100 km (62 miles) route covers most of the city. It is a road-only ride for experienced cyclists who are up for a challenge.
Invesco City Classic Ride – This 120 km route is targeted to long-distance specialists.

After the tour, participants can enjoy a free barbecue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. compliments of the Region of Peel.

Take MiWay to Mississauga Celebration Square to participate in the Tour de Mississauga. MiWay will also be doing demonstration on how to load your bike on a MiWay bus.
