Yesterday evening, the City of Mississauga was given the Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT) Clean & Green Award for its outstanding environmental efforts.
“The City is committed to living green,” said George Carlson, Ward 11 Councillor and chair, Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC). “This designation goes to show that our commitment is making an impact in the future of Mississauga.”
“We are so proud to receive this recognition of the City’s environmental work,” said Brenda Osborne, Director, Environment. “It highlights the importance we put on making Mississauga a green city, through our many environmental programs and initiatives.”
The MBOT Business Awards of Excellence honour the efforts and successes of Mississauga’s businesses and individuals. The Clean & Green Award speaks to the City’s outstanding contribution to energy conservation and the environmental well-being of Mississauga.
“We are honoured to be recognized for our commitment to energy conservation and its positive impact on Mississauga’s environment” said Raj Sheth, Director, Facilities and Property Management. “Our team works hard to promote our green culture through our actions. Our commitment is an important part of how we think, operate and conduct our business.”
Selection for MBOT’s Clean & Green Award was based on a number of criteria:
