"Peter’s dedication to the safety of students travelling to and from school was exemplary,” said Sue McFadden, Ward 10 Councillor and Traffic Safety Council member. “Safe travel to and from school for our students cannot be compromised and this award reflects his outstanding commitment to student safety.”

"It is an honour to receive this award," said Peter Westbrook, chair of the Traffic Safety Council. "Student safety and getting people to walk to and from school is very important. We need to encourage it to help improve child health."

The award was presented to Mr. Westbrook by Mayor Hazel McCallion and Members of Council and Louise Goegan, vice chair of the Traffic Safety Council.
