Photo Op: Grant helps City Build New Pollinator-friendly Garden in Erin Meadows

Jun 21, 2016

On Monday, the City of Mississauga will be unveiling its new pollinator garden at Erin Meadows Community Centre/St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School. The City was awarded with the ScottsGRO1000 Grassroots Garden Grant, which promotes creating gardens and green spaces throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. The $1,500 grant supports the creation of a pollinator-friendly garden which contains perennial flowers and plants to attract butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators. Pollinators feed on nectar and collect pollen, transferring the genetic material necessary for the reproduction of flowers, fruits and vegetables.
