Mississauga Transit Launches Major Services Changes

Oct 14, 2003

MISSISSAUGA, October 14, 2003 - Effective Monday, October 20, Mississauga Transit will launch major changes to many of its services. Increased service demands in Mississauga's growing residential and business districts have resulted in the introduction of two new routes, the re-alignment of several others and the expansion of Mississauga Transit's accessible route network.

"Mississauga Transit is pleased to offer significant improvements to its services," said Bill Cunningham, director, Mississauga Transit. "The service improvements are comprehensive and I strongly recommend that our customers review the changes before October 20 by picking up a copy of our new service change brochure, visiting our Web site or calling customer information. Informed customers will be better able to take advantage of the new system."

Local businesses and major employers will receive e-mail service change bulletins to share with their employees who use Mississauga Transit to commute to and from work. Transit staff will be on hand at various locations throughout the city to assist customers. New system maps will be available later this month.
